Sara Arscott, PhD, RYT-200 has been a student of yoga since 1999 and a teacher since 2003 and is inspired to teach yoga because, “yoga makes me feel great, makes me a nicer person, and gives me the energy and motivation to bring my best self to the world. I want to share that with others!” Sara has practiced many yoga styles and completed her 200-hour teacher training with Iris Mickey, who imparted wisdom from an eclectic lineage of Kripalu, Anusara, Viniyoga, and therapeutic-based styles. Sara has also studied with Tari Prinster and is a registered Yoga4Cancer teacher, which focuses on a gentle approach to address the specific physical and emotional needs left by cancer and its treatments through movement that stimulates the immune system, improves strength and flexibility, and helps to reduce anxiety and increase overall well-being. Most recently Sara has been studying with Amie Heeter in the ParaYoga style, rooted in Tantra and focused on specific sequencing, pranayama, bandhas, and mudras to promote awareness, energy balance, and personal fulfillment. Sara has been passionate about health and wellbeing for dozens of years and her journey led her to pursue advanced training in the science of nutrition. She received her PhD in Nutritional Sciences in 2009 and her studies continue to inform her understanding of how eating well and being physically active support whole health and well-being.
Sara is a dedicated yoga practitioner and a perpetual student of life and her teachings weave together modern science, ancient wisdom, and personal experience. She is passionate about sharing teachings inspired by the Tantric philosophy that fulfillment in life can be realized through the cultivation of a calm and steady mind, the balancing and expanding of energy, and dedicated practice. Her classes integrate alignment principles of Anusara Yoga, breath work, informed sequencing, ample reflection, and stillness to help her students cultivate a strong and supple body, inner calm, and greater awareness.
